Mercury

There's so many cool details in this piece! The little bits of blush and freckles on the character's elbows, shoulders, and face look cute, and help imply some shading without overcomplicating the cute chubby body. I also like the textural details in the little lines in the hair, pile of feathers in the arms, and the splatter of black watercolor in the background. (which also peeks into the foreground, adding more depth) The little dots and lines add a lot without becoming too busy. I'm also a big fan of the red/blueish-green contrast between the hair and skin/flower tones. I wish the background had reflected some of this sunny color scheme instead of a somber gray-- the lack of color puts a bit of a damper on the foreground. It also looks like the character's left eye overlaps the hair, where it should be behind the hair. Not a big deal, except that I'm not really sure what the character's expression is trying to say-- are they blushing? The eyes look a little sleepy.

Overall, great piece! I'll definitely fave this. 83
